ACHIEVEMENTNov 2013The Parish Council has been awarded £50k from LIS Scheme. Students of Architecture completed project for design ideas. Groundworks appointed as project managers. Preliminary designs due October 2013 for consultation. All shop owners engaged in scheme. Further funding opportunities being explored. Village Centre Community Fund being explored. N.B. This funding was withdrawn in January 2014 due to the current financial situation.This is something that will be considered as part of the LIS bid and is also discussed as part of the regular meetings with Notts County Council Highways department.Community litter picking events have been held throughout the village. The option for the Parish Council to take over litter picking responsibilities from GBC is being considered. Additional litter bins are ordered when need reported. A letter to shopkeepers is to be sent out by the Village Plan Committee, to encourage less litter.Several articles have been placed in the Parish Magazine regarding this issue. Dog exclusion orders are being introduced at Roberts Recreation Ground and the Grove.Discussions ongoing
